PRESCHOOL (6-36 MONTHS) - EXPLORATION SERIES

INFANT AND TODDLER SWIM (6 - 36 MONTHS) with the Parent/Care Giver in water with child.

The purpose of this course is to develop in young children a high comfort level in and around the water and a readiness to swim. This course does not teach children to be accomplished swimmers or to survive in the water. One Parent/Care Giver will assist the instructor in developing water adjustment. Infants must wear cloth diapers or training pants with plastic pants with tight fitting legs over them (swim diapers are okay). These can be purchased in our Pure Blue Swim Shop. Also bring a water toy. This is your opportunity to share in the educational experience of your child.

It is important to remember that these sessions will not make a child water-safe. Remember that no individual is water safe, regardless of past swimming instruction.

Skills taught include the following:
WATER ADJUSTMENT
WATER ENTRY (SEATED/JUMP IN)
FRONT and BACK KICK
BREATH IN MOUTH/BLOW OUT NOSE AND MOUTH
BUBBLE BLOWING
PRONE and BACK GLIDE
SUBMERSION AND OPEN EYES UNDER WATER
