Infant Swimming Resource (ISR)
About ISR Lessons
Turning your back even for a second can be enough time for your baby to reach the water. ISR gives children as young as 6 months the final layer of protection around the water.
Lessons for 6-12 Month Olds
- Gentle introduction to the water
- Hold their breath underwater
- Roll onto their back and float unassisted
- Perform these self-rescue skills in a swim diaper/suit and then fully clothed
I do prefer students are crawling before starting ISR lessons
Lessons for approximately 1-6 Years Olds
- Hold their breath underwater
- Swim with their head down
- Roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe
- Flip over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool
- Perform these self-rescue skills in a swim diaper/suit and then fully clothed
Your child’s safety and learning environment is our top priority.
- lessons are 1 child to 1 instructor. This way I can solely focus on your child’s progression and individual needs.
- lessons are a maximum of 10 minutes a day. This helps provide a very safe lesson and is key to the retention of skills.
- lessons are 5 days per week M-F and take 5-7 weeks for children to master these survival skills.
Always remember there is no substitute for adult supervision.
