ADVANCED OPEN WATER

The Midwest Aquatics Advanced Open Water Program takes you beyond the skills that you have developed as an Open Water Diver and prepares you for a variety of conditions and diving adventures! This program will focus on four specialized areas of diver training. Our most popular specialties chosen are Enriched Air (Nitrox), Deep Diving, Underwater Navigation, and Search & Recovery.

This program requires self study, 2 classroom sessions and 5-7 open water dives. With the Table Rock Houseboat season fast approaching know is the time to start studying and get signed up for an upcoming class.

Don’t have time for all 4 specialties? Sign up for 1 specialty at a time. Just let us know which class you want to take and we can tell you which day and time.

HUD mask from Oceanic comes to Midwest Aquatics. The long awaited Heads Up Display mask from Oceanic will be here to preview January 16th. The mask is being presented by our representative from Oceanic and the seminar is open to all MASC members. Watch the February newsletter for details on pool seminars to actually dive the HUD Mask.

Swim lessons for the Spring semester begin January 2nd . Just as a reminder if you signed up by phone you will need to fill out a new registration form the first day of class!

January 16th at 6pm - Oceanic Rep demonstrates the new Heads Up Display mask system!

You have GOT to come see the demo of the new HUD mask system. It will also be a good time to catch up on the holidays, have some adult beverages and discuss the 2007 group trips. Quite a few club members are going on the Socorro Islands dive trip at the end of January.

Saba : June 30 - July 7
Saba is only 5 square miles (straight up) and is known as “The Unspoiled Queen” of the Caribbean! Saba is a dormant volcano that rises steeply from the ocean to a 2,864 ft. rain forest. The beauty, the quaintness and the friendly people are absolutely unsurpassed anywhere in the world. This is truly a “storybook” island!

Breath taking views are verywhere...the coral sea mounts...the villages...the road...and the hotels perched on the sides of the mountain. From the top of Mt. Scenery you can watch weather happen and hours pass by! Dive sites such as “Diamond Rock”, “Third Encounter”, “Twilight Zone” and “Outer Limits” will leave you absolutely speechless.
