Galapagos Islands, Ecuador : May 23-June 1, 2007

On land and in the sea, the Galapagos Islands give the impression of a diabolic Garden of Eden. The islands' tumultuous volcanic history of scorched earth and fiery flows are evident the moment you arrive.
Inhospitable . Uninhabitable. Tortured.
These are the adjectives inspired by the lava-sea-scape. But look closer... this seemingly spartan landscape is in fact teeming with life; the first of the Galapagos' many contradictions. Suddenly you realize that what you thought was a rock is in fact a sun-seeking iguana! And to add to your surprise, it doesn't seem the least bit perturbed by your intrusive gaze!
Upon departing Kansas City we travel to the city of Quito, Ecuador. We will spend our first night in Quito before continuing on to San Cristobal where we will board the Galapagos Aggressor. Diving begins Friday and ends Wednesday morning. Three islands will be explored through land tours during the week. Snorkeling and bird watching excursions are also conducted between dives. Every Galapagos Aggressor charter includes thrilling shark dives at remote Wolf and Darwin Islands. When you step off the plane in Galapagos, you are entering a magical world. The wonders of Galapagos will unfold before your eyes during the Thursday to Thursday adventure!

Diving in the Maldives

Have you ever thought of getting on a jet and traveling off to a truly exotic, foreign part of the world and spending your days relaxing on the ocean, exploring remote dive sites that only a lucky few have ever seen? Well, Darin and Mary Ann Newman from Choo Choo Dive Center, our travel partners just returned from a 2 week journey to the Island nation called “The Maldives”. We spent 9 days aboard the luxury liveaboard, Manthiri exploring some of the worlds best diving and marine life. Whale sharks, Giant Mantas, Napoleon Wrasse and clouds of smaller fish keep us company on every dive. We could not go that far without seeing some of what that part of the world above water was like so we traveled to Sri Lanka for 4 very busy days of sight seeing.
Sri Lanka was a fascinating mix of ancient culture, exotic foods, and warm friendly people. Watch the newsletter and website for details of an upcoming trip that we will be planning for you to join some time in late 2007 or early 2008.
