Class of the Month
ENRICHED AIR (NITROX)
Nitrox provides many potential benefits. It may enable you to enjoy longer bottom times and shorter surface intervals. If, on the other hand, divers choose to remain within the same limits that air based dive tables and computers provide, Nitrox use may reduce the risk of decompression sickness by exposing you to lower overall levels of nitrogen.

Scuba News Flash
Manatees, Manatees and more Manatees
13 Divers, Jason Terry, Mark & Jean Akers, Kelly & Mike Boyer, Becky Johnson, Brenda & Truman Cassady, Bill Vennart, Rob & Diana LeRoy and Darin & Cari Duffin just returned from Crystal River Florida where we had the best Manatee trip ever. Hopefully the increased number of Manatees that we saw on this trip is due to an increase in population.

We spent an entire day floating, snorkeling and diving with over 40 Manatee varying in age from infant to adult. Wow what an awesome experience! We also spent a day at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium with our good friends Bill & Marianne Halleran. Marianne volunteers at the Aquarium so we were treated to a very special “back stage tour” of the aquarium. During the tour we also got to see “Winter” the injured 3 month old Dolphin that was found with her tail trapped in fishing line. By the time Winter was rescued the tail fell off but the good news is that Winter has learned to swim like a fish and is doing really. To see pictures of this beautiful little dolphin or to make a donation go to http://www.cmaquarium.org/

Featured Trip
Bonaire, July 1-8, 2006
Considered one of the most popular dive destinations in the Carribean, Bonaire is a small Dutch island situated just above Venezuela in the island chain called the ABC's for Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao.  Bonaire offers consistent weather with calm seas and little rain, and some of the best shore diving in the Carribean.

Within a short surface swim, you can reach Bonaire’s beautiful walls that are filled with a vast array of colorful marine fish, corals and sponges. The town pier is considered one of the top five night dives. The town pier is a “must dive” for photographers wanting a limitless supply of subjects. If you watch carefully, you may even see a Seahorse.

Bonaire’s sea abounds with beautiful marine life and a fascinating variety of multi-colored tropical fish. The sea is remarkably calm and conditions are superb for both scuba diving and snorkeling. On average, Bonaire’s visibility exceeds 100 feet (30 meters) and the average water temperature is 80 degrees Fahrenheit (29 degrees Celsius). The fringing reef begins close to the shore, usually a short 30 foot (10 meter) swim or less, making Bonaire world renowned for its ease of shore diving.

Bonaire Rated Number One Caribbean/Atlantic Dive Destination by Scuba Diving Magazine
In the 2006 Readers’ Choice Awards Bonaire received the #1 rating in four Caribbean/Atlantic categories including, for the fourth year in a row, Top Caribbean Dive Destination (96.3%). Bonaire was also rated #1 for Underwater Photography (97.4%), Beginner Diving (95.7%) and Shore Diving (95.4%). Bonaire took second place in the categories of Marine Life (94.7%), Healthiest Marine Environment (94.7%), Visibility (92.3%) and Top Small Animals (89%), and placed in the top five in the Top Value (90.5%) and Top Snorkeling (85.1%) categories…
